About the Work

In this series, the artist combines geometric perfection with organic diversity: dodecahedrons, icosahedrons, and other polyhedra are interwoven with fruits, so that geometric rigor and natural form meet in a single composition. At first glance, the works appear harmonious, beautiful, almost perfect. On closer inspection, however, the contradictions of the forms become visible, the futility of constructed perfection, which never fully exists in nature.

__PDF_PAGE_BREAK__This tension reflects a central theme of the present: the pursuit of perfection as manifested in design, consumption, social media, or self-optimization. The works show how aesthetic perfection often remains an illusion and thus refer to social expectations of ideal forms, whether human, material, or cultural. At the same time, the combination of fruit and geometry opens up a space for reflection: between order and chaos, functionality and superfluity, nature and construction.

Historically, the works can be placed in a longer tradition of geometric and conceptual art. Since the Renaissance, artists have dealt with polyhedra as an expression of order and mathematical harmony, from Leonardo da Vinci to the constructivist experiments of the 20th century. At the same time, the works are linked to the contemporary engagement with form, beauty, and irony, as seen in Minimal Art, Conceptual Art, and Postdigital Art.

The works combine aesthetic questions with social reflection. They make visible how the human pursuit of perfection shapes form and meaning, but at the same time is limited and partly absurd. In an age in which aesthetics and optimization are omnipresent, these works show that beauty and order are always both construction and illusion, and that critical perception remains essential.
