BEAUTY IN CHANGE 2025

About the Work

In Beauty in Change, a melting block of ice becomes the starting point for an audiovisual composition that makes transformation tangible as a sensory experience. Suspended within a polyhedral vessel, the melting ice drips into a water basin below. Each falling drop triggers a subtle sequence of light and sound, rendering the natural process of melting directly audible and visible.

What at first appears as a quiet, almost aesthetic sound experience unfolds, upon closer attention, into a multi-layered and contemplative depth. Beauty in Change employs natural physical processes as its artistic medium, seamlessly intertwining them with light and sound. The work thus offers a poetic and sensory engagement with impermanence, change, and continuous transformation not as an abstract concept, but as an immediately perceptible experience.

As the melting continues, the block of ice composes its own “musical piece” a melody of change translated into light and sound.
